My name is Justin, I’m a liberty activist based in Massachusetts. Born and raised as a republican, the 2012 presidential election was the first time I ever considered the possibility of a third Party Candidate. After much consideration, and self evaluation, I couldn’t bring myself to vote for a candidate who didn’t share my own unique views on government. I believed in a smaller government, and truly felt that the Republican message of lower taxes and sound fiscal policy was something I always agreed with – but at the same time, I couldn’t understand how anyone could care what a gay couple did in the privacy of their own home, or why there was a need for the government to be involved in the matter at all.
But then I found the Johnson/Gray ticket, and started researching The Libertarian Party, and the Liberty Movement. For the first time in my life, I didn’t vote Republican. Now there have been many Republicans to this day that I count among the sound and principled leaders of our nation, The Pauls and Justin Amash among them. But at the core, I felt that the Republican Party no longer represented me. I officially changed my voter registration to “Libertarian.”
Since 2012, my involvement in the Liberty movement has grown more and more intense, until finally, in 2016, I took an active role with The State Committee of The Libertarian Association of Massachusetts. I am also a volunteer coordinator for the Johnson/Weld 2016 Campaign, and an active member of the campaign staff.
I started Level Up Liberty! to give a voice to activists and candidates of the liberty movement. To let people know who was driving the force of change behind the scenes of the liberty movement. To let you know why they came, and why they are so motivated to preserve your freedoms!
